Zildjian K's
Perfect!
Just what I needed to warn a drummer before a jam night
Woah! This is honestly really cool. Keep at it man!
Wonderfull Ritm
Love the dark/crisps but when I get online with 🎧 and listen variation in weight is critical. Even with Paiste.
Can’t go wrong with some good ole new beats! I love Ks but the hats never rocked me. The only K hats I ever stuck with are a mismatch set I put together. Kerope top with special dry bottom.
They all sound great. I think the NB would be best for all drumming scenarios. I wouldn't turn down any of these.
it is not inspired by Dafnis, is actually and exercise of his book "A World of Rhythmic Possibilities" you can play it also in 6/8, like 16th or even in the off beats of 8 notes.
the purdie shuffle is an undying groove, plus this shit slaps
whatever hahaha
Listen to anything on the “Captured” live album by Journey to hear how great New Beats are in a live situation. They’re extremely versatile, but really shine in rock.
The dark crisp hi hat has beeny choice forabout30 years now.
El New Beat es mas cuerpo mas calido es tremendo timbre
1. Dark Crisp- warm/bright/musical/"dark" 2. KS- warm/dark 3 As- all around but a little brittle/bright. Everything but jazz (at least this particular pair)
So I have new beats right now but they make these horrible overtones that I can’t stand do the keys have less of this? Do you know what I’m talking about? It’s this awful bright pinging sound when the stick hits initially.
I think the K's do have less. Try not closing them quite as tightly. Let them slosh just a tiny bit and that sound should lessen.
They are all superb. Alltough the New Beats sound the most musical to my ears, there`s nothing they can`t do. Especially old New Beats with a top under 900g often sound beautiful even in jazz settings.
I agree - I think the NBs are the most versatile of the three, followed by the K.
I needa try another pair of New Beats. I got some in a cymbal pack about two years ago and they are absolute duds. I thought something was wrong with the way I was mixing/ recording them until I tried a Pair of Paiste 2002 15" Soundedges and they just exploded my New beats -Blew them out of this Realm...
That's a big leap when adding in the right hand. Would you show intermediate steps to lead up to using all 4 limbs.
It was a big jump for sure. It helps to have it written out and then try to go through it like a robot at first.
I got the Paistes. Everyone says “oh they’re so expensive”. They’re a whopping 60 bucks more than the New Beats. Well worth it in my opinion
In Europe the Paiste cymbals are in either the same or even cheaper pricerange as the zildjans or sabians.
I'd like to try another pair of new beats. I mentioned in another comment that I was playing them for a while and was never really happy. I think I got a pair of duds... I used to think it was something I was doing wrong with recording/ mixing them until I tried a pair of Paiste 2002 15" Soundedges and they just absolutely blew my new beats out of the water...
New beat casi similar al Paiste... Pero los tres suenan impresionantes!!!
Gracias! Si, estoy de acuerdo contigo sobre el Paiste. Quizas el K es en tu futuro?
Thankyou so much for the comparison! Great Video!!! ❤️🤘🏽
> Aggressive > Traditional grip. I'm confused.
Just check out Todd Sucherman! There's some aggressive trad grip
All three hi hats have great sounding! Hard to choose one. Good comparison, excellent playing.
Thank you! Yes I think they all have their distinct sounds + advantages over the others. The Paiste really cuts through
incredible work.. good job
Thank you so much, Davide
Nice. Going forward I want to focus on the right things like you are!
ALL SOUND GOOD..PAISTE SOUNDS MORE QUALITY
There is so much Jim White sound in this <3
Thank you so much, that's very nice!
Least favorite are the new beats by far

Great cover, relax and funky, nice example also for my Students, thanks for sharing !!
What size was this crash? Thanks!
thank you so much you legend
yessir
It seems to me that Paiste has a more scooped sound e.q. wise. Zildjians have a stronger midrange. Hard to beat the price of new beats used. Paistes really sound great, but the price is beyond rediculous.
Yes it is ridiculous. Luckily I got them more than 50% off, so that stops the hurt a little bit.
great video mate. those paiste sound grat. good choice
Thank you!
I am going to steal your left hand figures when I play this on a gig tonight.
By all means! Have a great time
Those Tom Tom’s sound awesome
Thanks so much!
❤Go King
Thank you SIR!
Muito bom 👏👏👏
Thank you!
I like the Dark Crisp. The sound and tone are concentrated, without a lot of dissonance or "noise". The clarity of your rolls when combined with the clarity of the cymbals is bliss.
They really do slice through a recording, I think they could be the go-to for live shows.
@Andrew Nemes Drums - I've decided that since the heavier are no longer available in 13" I'm going to procure another set of those beautiful Dark Crisp Hats for the live rig.
@@danlc95 Nice! Let me know how you think they play in a club setting, I'd love to know
@Andrew Nemes Drums - I've used them from acoustic to heavy rock, and they are workable. Lighter music I might want to get two top cymbals, or maybe a Traditional, but I only have Dark Crisp, Sound Edge, and Heavy 13's right now.
😮
Wanna love the paistes but there is something missing in the mid range and the open sound is a little hollow compared to the ks
I like the last combination the best, New Beat on top Dark Crisp on bottom.
Looking for a pair for my beloved a-custom mastersounds that my band mate sold. Really hard to tell by listening few vids, but the Paiste sounds really good to my ear. What would you suggest. He is paying and lives 400km away now so can't really give him just one pair to buy. They are still beeing sold but takes a long time to "break them" in if you know what I mean.. Is the Paiste better for rock, pop, prog, jazz?
Meaning I only have one chance getting it right..
The Paistes do have a great chick sound. They’re also pretty loud. I think they’d be good for fusion and jazz. Can’t go wrong with high-end Paiste
Thanks for posting! If you have a minute, I've been recording some original acoustic songs. As a fellow music lover, I'd love if you would take a listen. It's on my page. Hope you like it.
I Prefer the PAiSTe Signature Dark Energy hats over all of these. but my fav hats of all are the 15” 2oo2 Sound Edge hats. They are just music to my ears!!!!! And a classic
Can’t go wrong with those!
I learned on a drumkit with New Beats at church when I was 15.. it's like no hi hat has ever matched the experience. I'm debating dropping $160 on a used pair.
They are super crisp. Definitely a reason so many people use them
@@AndrewNemesDrums I got them, they are different than what I expected, they are kind of dry which I like. They seem to sound best closed, a little open, but not as much "sloshy open" I don't use that much anyway. They are crisp but not too bright. Thanks for your videos.
I’m currently using a quick beat bottom hat and an A custom top hat. I dig the combo.
Great!
Love it!
Thanks a lot James!
